Porto Cristo
is in the municipality of Manacor, capital of the region of Llevant, located at on 8 km from it. This town is known around the world for the manufacture of artificial pearls which makes it a must visit place. You will also know, among other things, the church and cloister of San Vincenç Ferrer, the church of Nostra Senyora dels Dolors, the History Museum of Manacor and the market that takes place every Monday morning.
In the municipality of Manacor 32km square are declared as natural areas of special interest over 6km which correspond to the rocky shore open ocean by a set of virgin coves of great natural beauty. This space extends between s’Estany d’en Mas and Cales de Mallorca and features, as characteristic aspects, a coastal landscape of extreme unchanging beauty, a great diversity of flora and fauna which is considered ideal for hiking. This area include, among others, Cala Pilota, Cala Magraner, Calo d’es Serral, Cala Sequer , Cala Engana Pastor, Cala Varques , Es Caló Blanc and Cala Falco.
Hams Caves
Located in Porto Cristo and renowned worldwide for their finesse and their particular arborescent formations. They were the first caves open to the public in Majorca, in 1910. The Caves house inside different lakes being the “Sea of Venice” the greatest of all, where is the musical “Magical Mozart” is offered daily in a special tribute to the famous composer.
Church Mare de Deu del Carme
is located in the central Plaza del Carme and its construction took place between 1916 and 1922. The style is Romanesque and is dedicated (as the name implies) to the Mare de Deu del Carme, patron saint of fishermen and sailors. In 1957 it was expanded and completed with a bell tower of the same style. After modification of the apse, it was opened on July the 10th , 1964 and already had its present appearance.
Passeig de la Sirena
is located just in front of the beach. It was named after a small sculpture that was destroyed during the Spanish Civil War. In 1988, the year celebrating the centenary of the founding of Porto Cristo, it was replaced by the siren-shaped sculpture of Pere Pujol which we can find now. In this seafront several concerts and events take place, as well as the small local market on Sundays where you can find a wide variety of local products.
Les Coves Blanques
The Coves Blanques (white caves) are a set of simple plant natural caves that were retouched during the talaiotic period. Before the founding of the village they were used as a refuge for sailors and fishermen.
Torre del Serral dels Falcons
is located at the end of the Avinguda d’en Joan Servera Camps is a watchtower built in 1577. It is part of the network of coastal defensive towers that warned of the presence of pirates in the coast. Due to its location, it offers magnificent views that make it a landmark.
